Katis – educational seminars for teachers
The Slovenian School Museum was founded 125 years ago by Slovenian teachers to be able to exchange textbooks, professional literature, ideas, and materials. Today, our museum also seeks to be a place for meetings and professional discussions. In our seminars, teachers and museum staff explore together the relationship between school and museum; we invite guest speakers who build their knowledge from experience; and above all, we want to give you – the teachers – a voice so that you can return to the classroom with new ideas, enthusiasm, and confidence.
From the 2021/2022 school year, we organise Katis seminars for teachers in March each year. You are invited to join us.

Participants’ impressions of the first seminar in May 2022
“The lectures were very interesting. The workshop facilitators were well prepared and engaged in their presentations.”
Irena Humek Kok, Medvode Primary School
“The delivery was exceptional. I wish I could take my pupils to the museum after this workshop because now I would be even more excited and thorough in my presentation of the experience based on this preparation for the visit.
Suzana Voštić, Dr. Ivan Prijatelj Sodražica Primary School
“I applied for this workshop because I often organise activities for the Culture Day – visit to the Slovenian School Museum. I am interested in history. I also like the fact the training takes place during working hours, when we are still full of energy, and not after school when we are exhausted.”
Ana Porenta, Dr. Ivan Prijatelj Sodražica Primary School
