With the development of the museum profession, which increasingly emphasises the importance of studying museum objects in the interpretation of the schooling history, and with the new needs of expanded museum activities, the situation in the museum has matured for the establishment of a conservation and restoration workshop. Without it, the needs of the modern museum cannot be met. Due to the variety of materials used to make education-related museum objects, the workshop covers a wide range of activities. The greatest need for conservation is related to paper since textbooks, as the main museum object, are printed on paper.
