Travelling exhibition From Gymnastics to Sports, hosted at the Faculty of Education in Maribo

Conceived in 2023 by Mateja Ribarič, the travelling exhibition From Gymnastics to Sports is on the road again this year. It was displayed in the atrium of the Faculty of Education in Maribor from 20 May to 2 June 2025.

It opened on Tuesday, 20 May as part of Cre-Active Day, an event held within the framework of the ‘Healthy Lifestyles for Sustainable Development and Lifelong Learning’ project. Ribarič has designed an interesting and interactive narrative for the exhibition, showing how physical exercise and gymnastics were introduced in Slovenia over time.

Around 400 students and other teaching and professional staff visited the exhibition. Some professors took their students to the exhibition as part of their study programmes, but most visited outside of their learning commitments.

Feedback was positive, with visitors delighted by the selection of photographs and the comments included in the exhibition.
