Our contribution to the activity day at the Centre for Communication, Hearing and Speech in Portorož
On Friday, 26 September 2025, we visited the Centre for Communication, Hearing and Speech in Portorož as part of the task ‘Supporting Vulnerable Groups’. We contributed to their ‘School in the Past’ activity day by delivering our 1865 Sunday School lesson.

Pupils from Years 1 to 9, divided into four age groups, took part in a historical lesson, where they solved witty riddles and learned about good manners while practicing reading, arithmetic and singing. We paid special attention to preparing the children properly for the experience of a historical lesson, as understanding the concept of pretence is essential for an enjoyable and positive experience. After the lesson, both the children and their teachers were happy with the experience we had provided.
The museum staff who ran the programme also agreed that working with vulnerable groups is extremely enriching and encourages mutual understanding and acceptance in society.
