- The first issue contains articles linked by the common themes of borders, language and school; state frameworks and language policy in Slovenian education during the first half of the 20th century. Four of the nine articles refer to education in the Primorska region, two discuss education under Nazi occupation, and one article each presents education in Prekmurje, education in Koroška, and the first Slovenian classical grammar school: the St Stanislaus Institute.

• The second (double) issue contains six articles thematically linked to the 30th anniversary of the reintroduction of the Matura exam in Slovenia, as well as articles on the teachers Frančiška Glaser and Alojzija Brus, and on vocational schools for innkeepers and adult education. Additionally, the journal contains three anniversary notes about notable teachers, a report on the museum’s work last year, an obituary, and four articles in the reports and reviews section.

About the School Chronicle
School Chronicle: Journal for the History of Schooling and Education (ISSN: 1318-6728) is a scientific and professional journal published by the Slovenian School Museum. It deals with various aspects of the history of schooling, education and pedagogy. It publishes scientific articles, memoirs and testimonies (as historical sources), book reviews, conference and exhibition reports. The School Chronicle journal has its origins in the joint proceedings of the Yugoslav school museums in Ljubljana, Zagreb and Belgrade, which were first published in 1964. The independent journal has been published under its present title and within the framework of the Slovenian School Museum since 1992.
