Informativa Education and Youth Career Fair: Presenting the teaching profession as it used to be
In 2025, the Slovenian School Museum participated in the largest Slovenian education and youth career fair, Informativa, which took place on 17th and 18th January 2025 at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. At the stand of the Ministry of Education, we presented the teaching profession of the past by conducting lessons from the old days. Participants were able to learn more about the teaching profession, while experienced representatives of the Ministry were also available for discussion.

The stand was also visited by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, mag. Andrej Sotošek, who emphasised how welcome it was that young people had the opportunity to gain such an in-depth insight into the advantages of the various educational programmes offered by the Slovenian education system.
Conducting lessons from the old days
At the event, lessons from the past were taught by Mr Scholar Stephen Cane (Gregor Gartner). Museum lessons from bygone times are a very important addition to the education of future teachers, pedagogues and andragogues, because by experiencing these lessons, they can better understand what the relationship between teachers and pupils was like, what the role of the teacher is, how pupils experienced discipline at school, and what kind of lessons were typical at a certain time in the history of Slovenian education.
