The Slovenian School Museum organises seminars for teachers within the Katis system. The Museum was founded 125 years ago by Slovenian teachers to be able to exchange textbooks, professional literature, ideas, and materials. Today, our museum also seeks to be a place for meetings and professional discussions. In our seminars, teachers and museum staff explore together the relationship between school and museum; we invite guest speakers who build their knowledge from experience; and above all, we want to give you – the teachers – a voice so that you can return to the classroom with new ideas, enthusiasm, and confidence.

How do you choose a lesson for your students?
With a wide range of historical lessons on offer, there are some restrictions regarding the age of participants (see the “Suitable for” section in the description of individual lessons). In the case of mixed groups, please refer to the age of the youngest participants. It is advisable for teachers to prepare students in advance for “living history”, to motivate them accordingly and to encourage them to participate, as this is the only way to make the lessons successful and enjoyable.
