At Znanstival, we showcased old-fashioned school writing instruments

Znanstival is a festival of adventures, science lectures, experimental workshops, hands-on experiences, the Garden of Experiments, and the House of Experiments, and is intended for people of all ages. We also took part in the Garden of Experiments, which took place on Stritarjeva Street in Ljubljana on May 29 and 30.

Participants learned about the challenges of old-fashioned school writing tools. They tried their hand at writing with a stylus on a wax tablet and with chalk on a slate; they learned about calligraphy and wrote secret messages. They also learned all about our historical lessons and tried kneeling on corn.

We were visited by many curious, inquisitive people—both young and not-so-young!
